The Perfect Cup of Tea
For best results, use Indian or Ceylon (Sri Lankan) loose leaf tea and a ceramic tea pot.
Warm the tea pot. If you’re not sure how, check out this video. Place in your teapot one teaspoon of loose tea leaves for every cup of water your teapot will hold. Fill the teapot with boiling water. Close the lid to keep the heat from escaping. Swirl the teapot to mix the leaves in the water and allow the tea to steep for at least 3 minutes before serving.
Provide sugar cubes and milk (not cream) on the table for guests who prefer their tea sweetened or European style.
For the Perfect Cup of Iced Tea…fill tall glasses with ice and fill with freshly brewed tea. Garnish with a sprig of mint or slice of lemon.
