INGREDIENTS
Store-bought cookies (pictured: Keebler Fudge Shoppe Fudge Filled)
Starburst candies
Wax paper
Rolling pin
Scissors
DIRECTIONS
Place a Starburst candy on a piece of waxed paper and microwave for about eight seconds (more or less depending on your microwave).
Place another piece of waxed paper over the candy; roll out candy between the two sheets using a rolling pin.
Peel candy from paper and cut out wings. Use the scraps to form balls for the body. Assemble your dragonflies!
Tips and Variations:
- Don't roll out your candy too thinly or it won't stand properly.
- Place frosting between two cookies, then roll in sprinkles before assembling dragonflies.
- If your cookies get too many fingerprints, indentations, etc. from handling, place them in the freezer for a few minutes to firm up the chocolate before handling.
- Melt two Starburst candies at the same time, then roll out together to create a marbled color effect.
- Melt three Starburst candies in different colors, form a very thin rope from each one. Braid together and use in place of balls for the bodies.
- Add your dragonflies to the tops of cupcakes instead of purchased cookies, or do a combination of the two!
