Create some effervescent fun with bubbles at your next baby shower or bridal shower.
Decorate the room with lots of white or clear balloons. For centerpieces, group three different sized and shaped champagne glasses in the middle of the buffet and gift tables. Tie white ribbons on the stems and fill each champagne glass with Champagne Bubbles candies. Scatter sprigs of baby’s breath around the base of the champagne glasses.
Serve champagne, of course, or Chic Faux Champagne and a variety of tasty appetizers from The Shower Diva’s recipe collection. Serve Champagne Cake for dessert.
Bubble Relay. You will need: A couple of balloons and enough prizes for all the members of one team. Divide the guests into two single-file lines. The first person in the line will place a balloon between her knees. When the race starts, she turns to the next person in line, who must grasp the balloon with her knees and turn to the next person in line. If someone drops the balloon, the team must start over at the beginning of the line. The first team to pass their balloon all the way down the line wins!
Bubble Pop Game. You will need: Paper notes (one for each guest) and balloons (one for each guest) and a prize for the winner. Place notes inside un-inflated balloons (if you use clear balloons, make sure the notes are folded so no one can see what the notes say). One of the notes should say, “You are a Winner!” The others can have funny quotes or sweet sayings. Inflate the balloons with helium. When you’re ready to play, have each guest choose a balloon and pop it to retrieve the notes. Award prizes to the winners.
Bubbly Baby Bum Game. Here's a different take on baby shower games. You will need: Bubble wrap, clear packing tape, and prizes for the winning team. Divide the guests into teams of two. The Mommy-to-Be will not be on a team because she will be judging. Each team needs to choose one player to be the “baby,” who will be standing up and who cannot use her hands during this game. When the Mommy-to-Be says “GO,” the other team member must diaper the “baby” with the bubble wrap – remember, the “baby” cannot use her hands to help out. First team to get their “baby” diapered is awarded prizes.
Favors: For a baby shower, fill little baby bottles or booties with Champagne Bubble candies.
Don't forget plenty of actual blowing bubbles! There are some automatic machines available at party stores that can be set up ahead of time too. Just cover any fabrics that may become damaged from soap stains if you plan to use this indoors. You may even consider personalizing the bubble bottles for an extra special new year's touch of wow!
