What are some good sayings to put on the cake for a baby boy?
What a fun question! Get that camera ready! I'd want to go with a personal message from baby to Mom. First, make sure you have Mom-to-Be's due date, then when you order your shower cake, you could have the baker decorate it with the sign for males (circle with arrow in dynamic red, of course!) along with this message:
"Hi, Mom! See you sometime around _________, 2008! Love, ________. If Mom-to-Be has chosen a name for her son, advise the baker so he or she can fill in baby's name. If baby-to-come doesn't yet have a name, you could have the cake signed with something like "Love From Your Bouncing Baby Boy."
You can do a variety of personal message-from-baby cakes using a telegram motif, a letter or card motif, or a telephone motif! It all depends on how snazzy you want to go and what your local bakery can accommodate.
Other personalized messages-to-mom could be anything from "Mom & Dad, I can't wait to go to my first Dodger game [use your city's team name and choose mom and Dad-to-Be's favorite sport.]!" Or, "Mom & Dad, I can't wait 'til I meet you!" I can just see her face now. I've got goosebumps!
Nothing hits the mark like a message from baby.
If you'd rather not have that personal message from baby, there are some cute sayings such as...
It's a Boy! It's a Boy! What a great joy!
Mommy and Daddy and baby make 3!
The doctor told us it's a boy that I will be!
Bottles and booties, diapers and pins. This baby boy is where the love begins!
If you need more examples, please let me know.
My hunch is that you've probably got a cake maker in your area that markets special occasion baked goods. Baby, bridal, birthday and bachelorette cakes are a huge part of our celebratory life and food providers are well aware of customer demand. Your local bakery is probably quite experienced in specialty cake creation and the use of unique themes, colors, flavorings, shapes, styles and textures. The innovative baker is required in today's market place. We don't much go for the old Betty Crocker yellow cake with white icing anymore! Unless, of course, your theme is old fashioned! Start visiting bakeries in your area as soon as you can. Enjoy your part in the creation of a shower cake Mom-to-Be will remember for a lifetime!
